and Business Development to join our team.
Overview of the Role:
The VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development is responsible
for developing long-range strategic marketing, business development and sales
plans to support future growth, and translate those plans into tactical functional
action steps to ensure financial and strategic goals are attained across the company’s
product lines, geographies and lines of business.
As a member of the Management Team, this individual’s responsibilities include:
- Develop the company’s long-range sales strategy including potential
partnership arrangements, channel management and product forecasts for sales volumes
- Develop annual sales goals that are in line with organizational
objectives and meet revenue targets
- Oversee the structuring and design of the field sales activities
to meet revenue and territory requirements for advancing the company’s products
- Define and monitor individual territory targets and MBO’s on a quarterly basis
- Demonstrate passion, knowledge and determination in creating a “Best in Class”
sales and support organization
- Design, develop and manage sales initiatives to maximize account penetration and
customer utilization in the key solid organ transplant centers in the US
- Establish and deliver revenue and commercial operational budgets consistent
with industry standards as a percentage of overall revenue
- Focus personnel and team members on high rates of return commercial activities
and performance characteristics. Key initiatives will be on account penetration, customer
utilization goals and BDM professional development
- Effectively manage, train and develop the sales and marketing team to ensure
delivery of the Company’s strategic revenue goals and to allow team members to take on additional
responsibility and function at higher levels in the company
- Work closely with the National Sales Manager to ensure effective coaching,
counseling, monitoring, and appraisal of marketing and field sales performance contribution and
professional development on an on-going basis
- Responsible for both strategic and tactical marketing including market segmenting
and targeting as well as positioning the Cylex product line as it relates to the current and
future opportunities the Company deems appropriate
- Responsible for the company’s marketing plan and ensure ongoing development of
strategies that enable the company to achieve current and future business goals
- Responsible for developing the appropriate distribution strategy and market
development for each market segment in the US
- Set strategies for new product launches and brand management to optimize
revenue generation and product placement
- Develop strong knowledge in product, market application, transplant market
needs and opportunities, competitive intelligence, and applicable regulatory restrictions
- Ensure the development of appropriate promotional programs to effectively
support the field sales team in developing sales leads and creating broader customer awareness
for the Company as a whole
- Oversee new market development activities including: market research,
business intelligence, long-term planning, business contingencies and identification of major
decision points for the company
- Ensure consistency of brand image and market position, and communicate
appropriate branding, marketing and position messaging both internally and externally
- Work with management team to develop and implement optimal pricing
strategy as well as reimbursement strategy
- Maintain and develop positive relationships with key industry thought
leaders and participate in strategic planning with regard to key opinion leader (KOL)
cultivation, publication planning and other medical-marketing activities
- Work with the Director of Customer care to contribute to the design,
development and management of a proactive Customer Support capability that grows business;
achieves strong levels of customer satisfaction and is in line with the sales team efforts
- Develop and construct positive relationships with valued international
distributors in key strategic markets around the world as well as train, monitor and support
their growth
- Work with R&D team to provide insight into expanding and enhancing the
current product line in an efficient, realistic and cost effective manner
- Routinely present to the company employees, senior management,
and board of directors commercial activities, opportunities, and strategies for overcoming obstacles
- Actively participate in senior-level discussions regarding overall
direction of the Company, scale and scope of future research activities, manufacturing, staffing,
etc. to ensure that company strategies are met, commercial operation are effective, and
accountability is provided to shareholders
- Develop an international marketing and product placement strategy
to promote Company and products and support sales and channel distribution strategies
Necessary Qualifications:
- BS required and 15 years in diagnostic and pharmaceutical
industries with emphasis on sales, marketing and business development
- Familiarity in the therapeutic areas of solid organ
transplant, HSCT/BMT, oncology, autoimmune disease (IBD, RA), and/or
companion diagnostics
- Excellent understanding of consumer brand and product
management, sales, and consumer promotion techniques
- Strong track record of identifying and executing
strategic business opportunities (could include acquisitions,
joint ventures, or licensing arrangements)
- A commercial understanding of business and
intellectual property law and compliance in the life sciences industry
- An entrepreneurial mindset with small business
experience and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to
effectively lead and mentor supporting staff
- Must have open communication style,
be team-oriented, and be sensitive to communicating at all
levels of the organization and customer base
- Basic knowledge of a second language
is desirable, (i.e., German, Italian, Korean, Chinese, Spanish or other)

Cylex has an immediate opening for a Medical Science Liaison-East Coast
to join our team.
Overview of the Role:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based member of the Medical
Affairs support team at Cylex, Inc. and works closely with the Director,
Medical Affairs. The MSL applies scientific knowledge and experience
to organize the collection of and analyze clinical data, and educates
physicians and transplant coordinators. The MSL is responsible for
establishing and maintaining clinical/scientific relationships with
key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, transplant coordinators,
laboratory managers, and other members of the scientific community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish, enhance and maintain scientific relationships with the key
opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, transplant coordinators, laboratory managers, and other
members of the scientific community
- Communicate and reinforce the clinical utility and scientific value
of Cylex products and the clinical application of immune function testing
- Provide timely and relevant updates, scientific support and
responses to scientific or medical inquires related to Cylex products in conjunction with
the Director, Medical Affairs
- Analyze, interpret, and clarify product results for scientific
and medical publications and in connection with on-going studies and trials in
coordination with clinicians and the Director, Medical Affairs
- Interact regularly with senior product and
clinical management for strategic development issues related to the scientific and
clinical utility of the product
- Assist with the design of clinical study protocols
- Provide scientific support at medical meetings
- Coordinate and participate in scientific advisory board meetings
- Coordinate and manage activities related to investigator-initiated
studies with Cylex products
- Provide management of publications and abstracts
- Function as a liaison in the resolution of reimbursement issues
- Assist with the identification and recruitment of KOL speakers and
educators
- Provide insight into trends and changes in the use of
immunosuppressive therapy, as well as scientific information regarding new
therapies and potentially competitive technologies
- Maintain thorough up to date knowledge of disease state,
clinical information, and product data
Necessary Qualifications:
- Healthcare professional with advanced degree in clinical science
(PhD, PharmD, MD, OMD)
- Minimum 3 years in a clinical setting with a working knowledge of
immunology, infectious disease, and/or transplant
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style
- Demonstrated abilities to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate clinical data and clinical scenarios
- Leadership skills and ability to effectively manage projects and timelines

Overview of the Role:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for cost-effectively
generating revenue for the Company, establishing the value and presence
of Cylex products in the marketplace, and building strong business
relationships with clinical decision makers and the consumers of our
products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals for the customers
within an assigned geographical territory
- Determine revenue opportunities at each center within
assigned territory and develop and execute a strategic account plan
for each. Prioritize utilization of resources and Company personnel
to maximize growth and profitability of assigned territory.
- Develop and implement account plans to generate
or increase the utilization of our products, which should include:
Identification of account opportunities to increase product sales,
establishment of a priority call cycle, identification of key account
personnel and establishment strong relationships. Account plans should
be updated and enhanced on a routine basis.
- Develop and maintain strong written and verbal communication skills
including effective core messaging and delivery of formal presentations
- Maintain complete, accurate and concise records of sales activities
and provides updates to sales management on key issues, marketing opportunities,
and knowledge of market intelligence
- Understand the transplant process and subsequent care of the patient,
how to best position Cylex products throughout the process, and how
to best utilize Cylex resources to meet or exceed customer expectations
- Play an active role within the transplant industry on a local, regional,
and (if requested) national level in conjunction with other Cylex departments
to include Customer Care, Medical Affairs, and Marketing
- Continually work to improve industry and Cylex product
knowledge through self-initiated development activities, attendance
at local meetings and seminars, and other regional and national programs
or trade shows as determined by Company management
Necessary Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or business and 5 years of medical
device, diagnostic, and/or biotech sales experience in a clinical hospital
environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of transplantation, infectious disease, general
immunology, diagnostics, and laboratory functions preferred. Ability
to develop and demonstrate proficiency required
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Proven ability to maintain strong professional relationships
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Work Environment:
Employee will maintain home office, plus travel as required (up to 75%)

Cylex has an immediate opening for a Vice President of Research and
Product Development to join our team.
Overview of the Role:
The VP of Research and Product Development is responsible for providing technological
leadership, and strategic and tactical direction for all product research and development
activities. The VP of Research and Product Development is a key driver in the development
of the Company’s pipeline of in vitro diagnostic assays designed to monitor a patient’s cell
mediated immune system functional status. The VP of Research and Product Development is
responsible for developing strategic product development plans and for devising the means to
achieve specific development milestones in support of this strategy. This position identifies
and evaluates biomarkers of cellular immune function, and the appropriate technology platforms
necessary to detect them, with potential utility for assay development based upon desired population
of white blood cells (e.g. T helper, T regulatory, Cytotoxic T cells, NK cells, B cells, Monocytes).
The VP of Research and Product Development directs the R&D staff, assists in and approves experiments
designed to evaluate potential clinical utility of candidate biomarkers and assay formats, as well as
reviews and interprets data. This position is accountable for successful execution of new product
development through to commercialization of products and drives the creation and development of
clinical strategies, protocol designs, and assessment of study results to meet commercial, regulatory,
and scientific objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Investigate and maintain current knowledge of technologies with the potential
for commercial application in target cell isolation and concentration as well as detection and
quantification of biomarkers of immune cell activation or suppression
- Develop strategy and evaluate technology alternatives for new products and
next generation versions of existing products in alignment with the overall Company strategy and
in collaboration with the management team
- Assist in the selection of target indications in markets that optimize
sales and profit opportunities for the Company
- Establish strategic product development plans that include procedures
for defining the product profile, product development stages with milestones for decision making,
and product testing that facilitates the integration of leading edge methods and technology through
all phases of development to commercialization
- Direct laboratory research staff and activities for initial assay feasibility
determination according to the criteria defined in the product profile (e.g. define analytical
performance characteristics using highly characterized controls)
- Conduct exploratory studies using prototype assays to determine assay performance
using characterized clinical specimens in order to confirm potential clinical utility
- Lead all test method development and validation activities
- Manage and optimize product transfer into pilot and commercial manufacturing
- Oversee design and conduct of clinical trials including documentation,
data analysis and reporting
- Work closely with senior management and corporate legal counsel, to manage
the Company’s intellectual property portfolio including updates and submission of new documentation
- Routinely present updates to the Company employees and /or Board of
Directors on product development projects, clinical trials and supporting data
- Develop, maintain, and enhance positive scientific relationships
with key opinion leaders
- Develop and construct positive relationships with valued academic,
government, and industry collaborators to achieve company business goals and development strategies
- Provide technical expertise and support for Manufacturing,
Quality and Customer Care
- Provide leadership to research and product development teams through
coaching, counseling, monitoring performance with defined objectives and milestones for each employee
- Recruit, hire, train and mentor new hires in clinical and product development
- Manage department expenses in a responsible manner and within budget
Necessary Qualifications:
- MD or PhD in immunology and/or a related clinical science, 10 years
of increasing responsibility successfully developing IVD products
- Experience in clinical validation study design and management, including regulatory
requirements and result reporting of IVD products
- Expertise and ability to prepare 510(k)s and/or PMAs for successful
and timely acceptance by FDA
- Training and experience involving analysis of cellular immune responses
in the specialty areas of transplantation immunology (solid organ and bone
marrow), rheumatology, vaccines and infectious diseases
- Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivating
- Strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategies,
tactics, and metrics driven implementation plans
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical and presentation skills

- A strong and broad working knowledge of GLP guidelines - Familiarity with
