ASHI 37th Annual Meeting

The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) is an international society of professionals dedicated to advancing the science, education, and application of immunogenetics and transplant immunology. As a nonprofit association, it includes clinical and research professionals such as immunologists, geneticists, molecular biologists, transplant physicians and surgeons, pathologists and technologists. Involved in histocompatibility, immunogenetics and transplantation, the society is dedicated to advancing the science and application of histocompatibility and immunogenetics; providing a forum for the exchange of information; and advocating the highest standards of laboratory testing in the interest of optimal patient care.

ITNS Annual Symposium & General Assembly

The International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) is committed to the promotion of excellence in transplant clinical nursing by providing educational and professional growth opportunities, interdisciplinary networking and collaborative activities and transplant nursing research. Its annual symposium provides a forum for learning about the latest advances in transplantation and transplant patient care. Over the years, ITNS continues to provide nurses -- skilled in transplantation -- with many opportunities to share their expertise with national and international peers, and receive recognition for their knowledge and scholarly pursuits.

XII International Intestinal Transplant Symposium
September 15-18, 2011 (Washington, D.C.)
One of the major aims of the Intestinal Transplant Association (ITA) is to provide a forum for experts in the field to share knowledge regarding intestinal transplantation and rehabilitation through the International Small Bowel Transplant Symposium that is held biannually and hosted by a member transplant center. Focusing on the study and clinical practice of intestinal transplantation and intestinal failure management, the meeting has evolved with exciting clinical and scientific developments over the last several years. ITA has been an organization mostly made up of transplant surgeons, nutrition specialists and other transplant professionals with a desire to broaden the scope and involvement of clinicians and scientists in related fields to help forge ahead with new innovations, leading to dynamic collaborations and future studies. Scientists interested in mucosal biology and immunology, stem cell biology, cholestasis and fibrotic liver disease, tissue engineering, innate immunity and other fields have much to offer the organization with a belief that shared interests and expertise will benefit all.

NATCO 36th Annual Meeting
August 13-16, 2011 (San Francisco, CA)
NATCO, The Organization for Transplant Professionals, is committed to the advancement of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. The NATCO membership is comprised of a diverse group of professionals. Procurement practitioners manage the care of the donor to ensure organ viability, consult with families in their donation decision, arrange for the surgical recovery of organs and match donor organs with recipients. Transplant practitioners manage the pre-transplant evaluation process, monitor the patient's level of wellness, adjust the patient's priority listing with a national computerized tracking system and manage the care of the recipient posttransplantation. Hospital development specialists determine the level of potential for donations within hospitals and work with hospitals to educate medical and nursing staffs about donation to ensure referral of potential donors. Public education specialists work to increase donor awareness within the community. NATCO's numerous education programs for various experience levels of practitioners, its publications and other materials ensure that its membership is on the cutting edge of the most recent developments and technologies in transplantation today.

XXXVI Congress of the Immunology Spanish Society
June 8-11, 2011 (Pamplona, Spain)
Represented by its distributor from Spain, Diagnostica Longwood, Cylex had a presence at this annual prestigious meeting. This year’s Congress offered a high level scientific event with a very active forum for discussing issues that affect healthcare professionals in patient care, research and university teaching. This edition also highlighted two joint symposia of the Spanish and the French Society of Immunology, where each presented ideas utilizing an esteemed and accredited speaker panel from both countries. There was also a satellite symposium for continuing education of laboratory technicians, residents and other interested professionals who focus on quality control and the immunodiagnosis of hematologic malignancies. The venue was the Science Building at the University of Navarra, which offered a memorable university context.

American Transplant Congress (ATC)
April 30-May 5, 2011 (Philadelphia)
ATC is the joint annual meeting of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST), which brings together physicians, surgeons, scientists, nurses, organ procurement personnel, and pharmacists who are interested in the clinical and research aspects of solid organ and tissue transplantation. The event encourages the exchange of new scientific and clinical information and support an interchange of opinions regarding care and management issues, as well as socioeconomic, ethical, and regulatory issues relevant to organ and tissue transplantation. Cylex exhibited at the annual meeting with its new booth and gained increased visibility with current as well as prospective customers. |
